As I was writing the title for this post I realized how crazy it is that it’s already summer 2019. You know how Instagram does this thing recently where it’ll pull up an image from however many years ago and ask if you want to add the image to your story highlight? I got one the other day from the summer of 2015 and it was a photo of my best friend walking through Rosemary beach…and it feels like just yesterday I took that photo. It’s funny how fast time flies by, isn’t it?
Anyway, this summer has been great. I haven’t blogged much because I haven’t felt super inspired. I feel kinda bad saying that but it’s the truth. I suddenly got the bug to blog this morning and felt inspired to make a back to school blog post, a life update, some style guides. I’ve been loving Pinterest lately! Most of my summer has been consumed with work, work, and more work. I’ve been working at three different places but mostly as a host at a restaurant. I love how I can start my morning working out and running at the gym, head to the pool or beach, go to a local coffee shop to work on my social media and then head into work later that evening. It’s an ideal schedule for a summer.
I had a few ideas for what I wanted to do this summer, one being work on my social media and brand presence and YouTube. Have I achieved that? Eh kind of? I’ve worked on my Instagram but I’ve kinda hit a rut when it comes to follower and engagement growth. Which is super frustrating. Tips left in the comments below are highly appreciated. I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts regarding social media and influencer platform growth. My favorite has been The Goal Digger podcast by Jenna Kutcher. She’s AWESOME! She’s encouraging and inspiring and makes me feel like I can conquer the world. I’ll link her podcast here.
YouTube has been something I can’t quiet get on board with. I love it, I want to create, but I can’t stay consistent. Consistency has been a challenge for a while though. It’s funny actually, I start vlogging and then I forget to keep up with it for the rest of the week. But this is something I’d like to work because I DO have a lot of ideas. If you have ideas for what kind of videos you’d like to see let me know!
So anyway, that’s how my summer has been in a nutshell. I’ll try to keep up on blogging more often and I can’t wait to continue to share more with y’all before I go back to school in September.
